He graduates on November 16 from the Navy basic training. I've read all of the rules about liberty time that he will be given after the graduation ceremony, and it says that he must stay in his uniform at all times, unless he's going to be swimming or doing other physical activities, at which time he must wear an issued sweatsuit. So, does this mean that he and I will not be able to enjoy our time in our own way? I'm just curious, and I'm sure he'll know by the time the time comes, but I'd like to know now. And unless you have a serious answer, please don't respond. Thanks.

And for clarification, this is just the few hours he gets before he has to return to the RTC, so we won't staying the night together.

From most of the answers I have received, I realize that most readers think that I'm referring to times when he gets to come home. Like I said, this is the liberty time directly after graduation before leaving for A school. He'll only have a couple of hours. He won't be allowed to drive, drink, or smoke, whereas on regular leave, I'm assuming he will be able to do those things. So, I just wanted to make sure that sex, or, excuse me, "making love," is included in banned activities for those few hours. Contrary to how my question may make me be perceived, I am not stupid nor am I ditzy. I'm sure I'm more intelligent than 85% of the people on here.

I went through Navy bootcamp up in Chicago a few years ago and remember going through the same thing. They listed all these things we couldn't do, and it scared me half to death. We had a hotel room in the city, and when I arrived there in my working blues, I was afraid to even go swimming because of what our RDC told us. No alcohol was another rule, and I was so parnoid, that I drank about half the bottle of beer in the bathroom with the door shut, because I actually though the Navy might have some sorta of surveillence on my room. Needless to say, it was silly to be scared. You nand your fiancee need to relax and enjoy yourselves. Behind closed doors, you're good to go. Out in public, I suggest him playing it straight. Also, if he's going to drink, make sure he goes at least 2 hours without any alcohol before heading back to base. Let me also commend you on being one hell of a fiancee. I think that is awesome how excited you are to see him, and I know firsthand how excited he'll be to see you. Good luck with everything.

I hope this helps you. During graduation, there are many places to go, especially when he has off base liberty (time away from the base), but one place you will not be allowed is in the barracks (also referred to as the dorm). If you do not have a hotel/motel lined up, that will make it very difficult for him to remove his uniform.

As one reader put it, you can do whatever you want behind closed doors. The unfortunate part, if you do not make the "behind closed doors", the Navy is not going to.

I'm presuming you're referring to "boot liberty," the few hours after graduation when the recruit gets to spend a little time with family and friends who attend his/her graduation.

During that time he's supposed to wear his uniform--as opposed to civilian clothes when in public. I'd recommend therefore, you don't engage in sex in a public place... it could get him in trouble.

If you decide on a motel, I'd suggest you book the room in advance... for two... so you don't have to check in with him in uniform. When you lock the door behind you,, you're no longer in public.

As a retired military man, I have made myself available to make sure he does EVERYTHING in a smart, precise, and military manner IAW and as prescribed by OpNav 2936.1a, sub para 45 ("...other physical activities..." no swimsuit required), and NavTra 2872, chap 8, section 4. Please advise me of the time and place so I can perform my patriotic duty. It's a dirty job but someone has to do it,and I've been highly trained and annually re-certified to perform these missions.
Oh, and fun CAN be had.
Calm seas, favorable winds to ya!
p.s. It's called MAKING LOVE, not 'having sex.' ;-)

In the Navy, during a sexual confrontation with a peaceful alliance, it is customary to remove the uniform. But, the Dress Cap must be worn at all times.

The military doesn't control a guy's life THAT much. They don't produce monks in basic. Liberty is his time off and what he does with it is his business as long as he stays out of trouble.

For the record, you should wait for marriage. However, to answer you, can he take off his clothes for a bath or shower? I would presume so. If he takes a bit longer after his bath to get dressed again, what difference does it make? I spent six years in the army and believe me, the men in the military don't let anything get in the way of their pleasureable expression of their manhood.
Don't worry, you won't be breaking any military rules.

I am sure he is not going to care about the rules when he is out of sight. Besides his buddies would be upset if he didn't. They all kiss and tell at that age.

What THEY (meaning the military) don't know, wont hurt them. When I was in people took advantage of the system all the time...they just didn't say anything and "I" didn't know about it until a year AFTER graduating!
