My boy has a cold. The doctor listened to his chest and says it's not bronchial so it's nothing serious...but he can't go 5 mins without coughing. What can I give him to help soothe his throat and chest. His little tummy must be hurting by now. I will not give him cough medicine, so I need some natural suggestions...no tea either, I don't want to caffenate him!

Try boiling some water and hold his head over the steam(not while it's boiling!!) and maybe add some peppermint and drap a towl over his head. it sounds weird but it works for me. or try some vicks rub on his chest. or sit him in the bathroom with the shower running and creating steam.

i hope he feels better :(

This is very effective- if you have turmeric powder or raw turmeric. If you have turmeric powder, simply blend it with some milk or water (milk is more effective). If you have raw turmeric you can crush it up and blend it with the milk or water also. If you don't have any of these things then you can either go to an Indian store near you and get it, or you can use ginger which is pretty good also. Just make sure you don't use to much ginger because it is spicy and if you take to much it can cause problems like heartburn, etc.

Honey helps soothe the throat and stop the cough. I wish he could take a little crushed garlic because that would open him up and help his cold.

Cough drops. I had a problem like that as a kid, and it was because my parents smoked around me. Tell your kid to stay away from smokers.
