They still scratch and shake their heads and I found 2 brown specks in one of the ears. The last treatment was on September 20th!

I just spoke with the vet tech and she says it's better to give 3 treatments of Revolution and yes it is for ear mites. I am treating them myself and cleaning their ears also! So, I guess I will give another treatment!

It's tough to get rid of ear mites, and yes you have to keep their ears clean too.

Perhaps go to Revolution's website and see what they say about treating cats and kittens? Maybe that would provide more information and help?

I found a few websites for you which talk about ear mite infestations and treatment. I hope they help. the last one is about using Revolution for ear mites in dogs, but thought that it might be helpful nonetheless.

I'm having the same problem with my kitten! I started treating him two months ago and the problem still isn't going away!

My kitty just got his first dose of Revolution last week and he's been getting ear drops twice a day. His ears seem to be getting better. If you're only doing the Revolution, try asking your doctor if he/she can prescribe ear drops to go along with it. Also, make sure you clean their ears every other day. The more gunky stuff you remove from the ear, the better it will be for the kitty.

These things just take time...Good luck!

Ask you vet to clean your cats ears out as good as possible. Then use a product called Acarexx that will take care of the mites once and for all!

I could be wrong, but I think Revolution is only for fleas and ticks. Please double check with your vet, to see if you need to do something else. Back in 1983 my cats had ear mites, and I was told to clean the ears with a cotton ball soaked in some glycerin and a little water. Check with your vet for updated treatment.

Are you also cleaning out the ears a few times weekly??? I have found that NOTHING will work well unless the ears are getting cleaned out during the treatment.

Are you treating them yourself, or is a vet?

If it's a vet, take them back to him and see if he doesn't prescribe Mometamax ear drops. It works better than Revolution.
