Gardenburger is good, but tastes nothing like the real thing.

Some Boca things are pretty good, and many of them have a fairly realistic taste. The Boca Ground, for instance, is excellent for making tacos.

Morningstar Farms has a pretty good selection of reasonably realistic stuff, fairly similar to Boca.

Quorn is harder to find than any of the above, but is quite good. Their roast is a great replacement for turkey.

There are many others of varying quality, which are not in many stores. If you happen to have a healthfood/organic store, or a larger grocery store, you should be able to find a decent variety.

I would really suggest that you try several different things yourself, to see what you like.

Good luck.

It is so much easier to transition to the vegetarian diet now with so many companies making so many foods available that are designed to look and taste, as well as have he texture of the foods people are used to eating.

Both of the burgers you mentioned are really fine; different from each other but quite good. The Boca Burger is more 'meaty' than the Garden Burger.

Also there are excellent products in the supermarkets now made by Lightlife, Tofurky and Yves. You can find excellent vegetarian breakfast sausage as well as bratwurst, Italian sausage, hot dogs, chorizo, ground "beef" and other soy analog products in the refrigerator section of the Supermarkets as well as in the health Food Stores..

Additionally, Vege USA produces amazingly "life-like" soy based products like Vege Ham, Vege Beef Chunk, Vege Smoked Drumsticks, Vege Duck, Vege Fish, Vege Scallops, Vege Shrimp etc. Their company has a Taiwan side and a US side. These products can be found in Chinese Grocery Stores as well as in better Health Food Stores.Good luck and visit my website

I like Amy's Texas Burgers. I'm not a fan of Boca or Gardenburgers, but to each one's own.

A company called Viana makes some pretty good analogues. You can get their stuff at www.veganessentials.com or www.veganstore.com.

Lightlife, Tofurkey, and Yves make all sorts of analogues. Tofurkey makes pretty good vegan sausages and deli slices. Yves has a pretty good taco crumble mix.

You can crumble tempeh into chili or spaghetti sauce--yum!

You need to 1st understand that as a vegetarian, you have made the choice to take meat out of your diet for either personal or spiritual and / or religious reasons. If you need a "meat replacement" you may want to rethink your decision. If you are looking for more of an entree like item, your menu is limitless. There are many protein options for you, just check out the www! I have found my vegetarian clients prefer the following: A Portobello mushroom is extremely hearty. Sauteed, steamed, baked, it is excellent. New Tofu users will struggle, but this, honestly, is the absolute best replacement for "meat". In choosing your tofu, think of the type of meat you once liked. Did you eat filet Mignon? You need a FIRM tofu, etc. If you used to cook meat, try cooking tofu, eggplant, (very water based), portobello mushrooms, Hot house tomatoes, etc instead. You get to be creative!. I firmly believe the Italians have this wrapped up, since eggplant Parmesan is a slam dunk, and a stuffed / baked portobello mushroom with a couscous filling and some siracha paste will send you over the edge! Just be creative, get "plate Magazine". or "restaurants and institutions", you can be much more creative in the vegetarian world than you will ever need to be with meat eaters. As a Chef, it has forced me outside of my bounds, thankfully so!~

First of all, if you've eaten at mcdonalds-youve eaten tvp (textured veggie protein). Mcdonalds mixes their chicken and their beef with meat subs to save money.
Boca burger patties taste exactly like real beef patties.
Morning Star bacon does not taste exactly like real bacon but its close. If youve ever eaten the really crunchy fake looking bacon bits that are at certain buffets, youve eaten fake bacon.
Boca Chicken patties and all the chicken subs taste exactly like real chicken that its scary!
Boca garden burgers are disgusting! theres a difference between garden burgers and the burgers that are supposed to mimic meat. Garden burgers are just patties made up of various veggies and its GROSS!
Boca sausage patties and links are very yummy and their meatballs are too.

Morningstar Farms has sturdy alternatives. Soy products have come alongside way because the early days. there is regularly happening tofu, for sure, yet now there are diverse marinated ones. Then there is seitan and tempeh.... (my favorites) both one in each and every of those are sturdy in very just about any meat dish there is. there is veggie sandwich meat...... and soy crumbles for sloppy joes or chili and so on. i do not fairly take care of any of the veggie warm dogs i have tried. A organic ingredients keep could have a larger decision of things and the employees eat it too in an attempt to furnish you with their opinion and help you go with what you could like. sturdy success. definite Bocca Burgers are large...

Products made from Tofu, veggie burgers, also try Tempeh, it's made from soybeans and tastes really good IMO. You can even use some types of mushrooms as a meat replacement. Grill up a portabella mushroom, you'd be suprised how good it tastes!

I even like Boca Burgers the plain ones, not the ones with onions or other stuff inside.

I wasn't too keen on the gardengurgers, though.

Morningstar farms chicken nugets aren't bad, either.

those are the only "feat" (false meat) products i've ever had.

Boca burgers are real good. Try the " flame grilled" flavor. Top it the way you would normally. Try using Onion Buns. They add even more flavor. "Morning Star" have good pizza basil burgers and chick patties the Parmesan are my favorite. The pizza basil burgers, I put on garlic bread with provolone cheese, marinara sauce, pickles and red onions.
