I'm a vegetarian and I believe that they do. When you cut the head off a fish or steam/boil a crab/lobster or any other sea creature, I think they suffer in some way. What are your thoughts? Feel free to check out my website at http://maketheconnection.co.nr

For some reason, some of you are misunderstanding my question. I am not asking this question to find out, I myself already believe that these creatures suffer when used for food production. I posted this question just to see what everyone thinks on this issue.

The pain they feel in greater due to our imaginations and misguided sympathy.

Fish obviously feel pain. Why do you think they fight so much when they get hooks in their mouths? I used seen aquarium fish bite each other and the one that was being attacked would try to get away. If they aren't feeling pain, they do pretty good job of acting like it.

Not so sure about crustaceans, I have seen them lose a limb and go on like nothing happened. However, I have heard they struggle like Hell when they are boiled.

Most of them probably do, to the extent they have sufficiently developed nervous systems.
There is some research suggestion trees feel pain too, which may mean other plants do as well, so I'm not sure that becoming a vegetarian means you are no longer causing pain to living things, sorry.

Of course. Lobsters freak'n scream when thrown live into a pot of boiling water. Jab a fish and it won't scream, but it'll thrash around like it had some sudden shot of pain. People even claim cows, pigs, chickens etc. do not feel pain...

Yes, maybe for a few seconds if that much, but boy do they taste good. Man was meant to eat everything..we are omnivorous, you can not get the essential things your body needs by eating just vegetables, not even with supplements. Nothing beats good old mother nature, you should eat meat and vegetables, or your just going to do harm to your body. Worry more about the suffering of other people, not food!

I used to be vegan and now I'm veg but not vegan. Regardless, I have never entertained the utterly ridiculous idea that fish do not feel pain.

I believe they do too. I refused to perform a crab dissection in my AP Biology class today for that very reason.

Of course they feel pain. They are living, breathing creatures just like you or me.
