I've been feeling tired lately so my mom gave me an extra blood sugar machine, just checked it about 30 min ago and it was 193, she said it shouldn't be that high, even though i ate a lot of choclate today, she says my pancreas should even it out between 80-100, just rechecked it now is 166, is this possibly diabetes?

I'm confused now, My mom has had Type 1 since she was 8, so she knows a bit, but I called my doc's nurse this morning and she is saying it's because of what I ate. My mom says it SHOULD NOT matter what I ate it should always be 80-100 or atmost 120? Who's right?

the nurse is right, your mom has some serious misconceptions about diabetes and would likely benefit from some updated education.
if you want to know your accurate blood sugar, test first thing in the morning before you eat anything.....if the sugar result is under 120 you have nothing to worry about.

It's a strong possibliity. Don't be afraid.
The first thing I would do is see a doctor and let them do an hb a1c test. What that does is it gives you an average of how your blood sugars have been running over the last 3 months and you'll know if you're diabetic or not .Whenever your blood blood sugar reaches 200 or above you start to feel you have no energy and hunger and or thirst like you've never known it.You should wait about 2 hours after you've eaten and check your blood sugar. To me it seems like if you are diabetic (like me) you may be able to control it with just proper diet and exercise and you go to the American Diabetes Association's web site or Diabetes.org for some good tips and recipes.
By the way, my doctor told me to try and keep mine between 90 and 120.
Hope this helps.

Don't count your mom out, it's just that she may need to update her findings. Chocolate does contain lots of carbs and your body may have still been processing the carbs when you took your reading. How soon after you ate the last piece of chocolate did you check and then how long before you checked again. It should be 2 hours after you eat when you check and see where the sugar is. But the best thing to do is what was suggested earlier. Fast from about 7 or 8 pm throughout the night and check 1st thing in the morning. If it is elevated then, see your doctor for a diagnosis. Good luck.

Yes. Its what u eat. To make sure everything is ok. The next morning u get up don't eat nothing after 12 midnite. The next morning get up and check it and see how it looks. If its high than u know somehting is not right. Your blood sugar do go up when u get things. It should be 70-106 or 80-120
No higher or lower

maybe its lack of sleep why your feeling tired, I have possible diabetes, which means my doc has me watching what I eat and not drinking soda or any other sugar filled foods, I am a little overweight so I am at a higher risk, if you want to make sure go to your doc have it done there he would know how to reassure you that you dont have it or maybe your at risk, if your mum has it you could be at risk to getting it more if you dont watch yourself! my real dad has it and has to take shots to keep himself going good. so just research if you want to or speak to the doc or nurse again with any questions you have they will answer them!!
