#1: Not all meat-eaters have a problem with vegetarians and/or vegans
#2. Some do.. either they a)think we're being silly or stupid b) believe the propoganda that says we NEED milk or dairy c) just are suspicious of anything "different.
#3 alot of meat eaters have a problem with vegetarians or vegans because SOME vegetarians/vegans are preachy and harass them. This needs to stop. While I belive in educating people who don't have all the facts or have mininformation.. we need to be careful not to come across as condemnatory, preachy, or pushy. It should be live and let live between vegetarians and non-vegs..
BTW.. I don't think it's alot of vegetarians and vegans who are preachy.. just a few. They give all of us bad name. That's why I hate this Ashley moron so badly. THey're a meat-eater who claims to be vegan so they can talk nonsense and lead people to believe that vegans are morons. I HATE that people actually take her seriously and get a wrong impression of vegans.
I was APPALED at one episode of "trading spouses" or whatever that show was called. THey had a vegan woman on there and she was a JERK!! Preaching at everyone in the meat eating family..etc.. while the wife of the meat-eating family who was living with vegans was all nice and accomodating... I was SICK thinking "Is THIS how people envision vegans??" Made me SO mad. and I wanted to pop the vegan wife so bad for making VEgans look like jerks..
Anyway.. end of rant...

Ok. You are talking about the ***holes and not the rational people that just make a comment (even mean-spirited ones) here and there. You do mean the ones that like to come in this forum and comment on every single question and down people over nothing right? That's the people I believe you mean, so with that in mind, it's really a matter of why people troll forums at all...
Some people never grow out of an 8th grade mentality.
We could be in the "Big is Beautiful" forum or the "Erectile Disfunction Support Group" forum and they'd be having just as much of a blast. Seriously. This is how they get their jollys. They really think it's fun. As you saw in other questions perhaps, they call it a "game" and they hold contests to see who can get people more angry etc.
The other people that just comment here and there...well they aren't trolling or bothering us anymore than we bother them. They may not like us because of the stereotypes or BS they have in their heads, but that's a matter of ignorance rather than just being ***holes.

Some of those eating meat (and really, I don't think any person can eat nothing but meat - thus the term should be omnivore) like to have fun of vegetarians and make all sorts of jokes.
Thanks for posting this question. Maybe they will think more before starting to tease us and stuff.
From my part, anyone can choose to eat whatever one likes, and so I won't lecture any 'carnivore'. Except for lack of common sense and respect. Really, life is more than just talking about what we eat and what we don't eat. Food does not equal meat, so please...

I guess it's because some folks feel a need to harass people who don't agree with them.
For a while there, it looked like Yahoo was leaving the anti-vegetarian fanatics alone; but I have noticed lately that some of the really obnoxious rants are starting to get removed.

I don't come on this board and make a @%$ of myself unless it is to a person that is blasting eating meat and those of us that do(we are omnivores, btw, not carnivores).

The proper term is omnivore, although I call those hostile to veganism "meaters." Some people are just rude and nasty, some have a defense mechanism so they don't have to think about what that steak or pork chop or chicken breast really is. I try to avoid vegan ranting, especially while someone is eating the flesh, but if someone riles me up, all bets are off.

Everyone should be able to eat what they want, but when a vegetarian says they cannot watch me eat steak so i should order something else, then I have a problem. Likewise, it is the vegetarians right to eat what they want and not be crucified for it.

Please don't call me a carnivore. I eat more than just meat.
We are considered OMNIVORES as we eat both meat and plants.
Humans have canine teeth used to tear meat apart and also molars which are used to grind plants therefore making the human race naturally omnivores as a collective.
Some of us OMNIVORES may just not understand vegetarians and instead of trying to figure it out, they blast it due to their own stupidity and hatred for anyone that differs from the norm.
I was a vegetarian for many years, but switched back over for personal reasons. I personally love meat and will eat steak with my fingers like all of our ancestors used to do! (BTW, have you ever heard of a vegetarian cave man? I don't think so!)
But I just wanted to correct you on your terminology. Remember a carnivore only eats meat, a herbivore eats only plants and an omnivore eats both.

There are some really obnoxious people that come on here. I am an omnivore but I have never put down any of the V & V people (with the exception of Ashley but she is an exception period). I have seen rants both ways and I think that what a person eats is their personal choice, just like religion. Don't try and make everybody else beleive what you beleive, and don't make fun of other people becasue they are different then you! Pretty much the Golden Rule isn't it?

A bit of a generalisation...
I frankly don't care what you want to eat - as long as you are a good person then who cares?
