The Yves "meatless hot dogs" are the best of the ones I've tried and they are vegan. I also like Tofurkey's sun dried tomato sausages.

I like both Smart Dogs AND Worthington Big Franks (found in the kosher section of some nicer grocery stores in a can). THey're VERY different, but I like both
Smart dog: almost identical texure and VERY similar taste to real hot dogs.
Big Franks: bigger and fatter. GREAT taste but not that similar to real hot dogs.
I LOVE mashing big franks up in a food processor, adding Miracle Whip or vegenaise and sweet relish.. a squirt or two of mustard.. DELICIOUS sandwich spread!! That's what I do when I get thinking about/missing my tuna sandwiches with tons of miracle whip.
I tried that with smart dogs one time and it was NASTY.. I don't think SD are meant to be eaten raw!!

ps to ben yes there are vegie hotdogs, they are imatations of hotdogs made with veggie protein, just like there are veggie sausages

Smart Dogs are pretty good, especially with veggie chili.

I like Yves 'good dog' hotdogs...they are not vegan though.

i have only ever tried quorn, and thats really just sausage, but it makes a good hotdog if you add loads of home made salsa!
