Mucus is produced by your body to protect it from toxins. This is why a "runny nose" is so common in children, their body is getting introduced to so many toxins all at once.

You can't do all that much about toxins in your environment but you can eliminate them from your diet.

I grew up with what they called back then 'sinus trouble'. This meant I got all the colds and flu that went around. I had breathing troubles from time to time. I got ear infections and sore throats and the usual 'sinusitis', many times a year.

Now at 42 I have beaten all that 'sinus trouble' and many other health issues also, like Obesity and Heart Disease. I now live mucus free and I never get sick.

Hello Garcia,

If the treatments recommended by your doctor are not working he should be referring you to specialist.

There are several causes for nasal congestion:

Common colds & flu
Hay fever
A sinus infection
Allergies
Vasomotor Rhinitis ( Nasal problems not caused by bacteria, viruses, or allergies), for example dry air or pollutants.

If you suffer this condition so often, your doctor should be trying to discover the root cause for it and to do this he should refer you to an expert in this field.

My advice is to ask him to make arrangements for this to be done.

Good luck and good health

You are likely to be suffering from some form of rhinitis. Most commonly this is managed by the use of long term steroid nasal sprays. Go see your GP to discuss.

To help with sinus problems you must change your diet.

Switching from mucus generating dairy products and red meat to soy milk and white meat helps.

Taking 3 to 6 high strength odourless 3,000 mg garlic oil capsules a day helps.

Avoiding citrus fruit such as oranges, mandarins and lemons helps as they irritate your sinuses and activate the mucus glands.
