Get ready for this. Deviled eggs. Whenever they show up at a party, people fall on them! Because we all love them, and nobody ever fixes them. You can boil them several days ahead, and fix them the day before.
Use the smallest eggs you can find. Serve them on nice platters just like the other finger food. You can pretty it up with a bed of lettuce, or rest them on a napkin/doily.

This is as simple as it gets and is always a "go quick" plate.
You will need a block of 1/3 less fat cream cheese, a jar of coctail sauce 8 oz. (or you could make your own with ketchup 1cup and 1/2 horseradish adjust to your own liking) and one or two cans of crab meat (2 if you really like crab meat.)
One box of crackers. Wheat thins, ritz (they do break easily) triscuits, or maybe tortilla's.
I think it is really good with the reduced fat wheat thins.
Well anyways, you put the cream cheese block out and let it get room temp. (keep it covered with plastic) then when its room temp. take off the plastic open the bottle of coctail sauce then pour it on top of the block of cheese.
THen....you open the crab meat, drain it and pour it on top. waaah- Lahhhhhh
Crackers on another plate right next to your wonderfully simple seafood delight. Enjoy!!!

Oh dear, I wish you'd said what kind of party food. You know snack food, afternoon light or evening heavier meal or what? I'll give you a few ideas to choose from, Ok?

Snack like items easy to prep ahead of time.
Check mix any time & put into plactic bag or container - much better to fix this yourself than buy pre made that is so salty!
Ham rolls - that's what I call them. You can make these well ahead of time and freeze them and just take them out of the freezer an hour before needed and slice them if you'd like to put them onto crackers or make them into bite size pieces - your choice.
Take slice of boiled ham and spread with cream cheese either plain or with vegies choped in it & sprinkle with desired herb - I like Dill or Taragon best but you pick your Fav.
Lunch - humm, I'm not too good with this one once you get past the usual sliced veggies with Ranch dip, finger sandwiches and this time of year, a big pot of soup?
Dinner - my fav. is a big pan of lasanga. I find it really easy to make and since setting up is the most work I usually do several pans at once and freeze them to have ready for the holidays. It's a good one as once it hits the oven you're free to enjoy your guests. You can toss the salad early in the day as long as you leave the dressing off and set up the garlic bread early too, ready to put in to heat later. Use sturdy paper plates so you have easy clean up and best of all? Use an alumiun pan for the baking and you're really good to go!

If you set up the lasanga the week or even 2 weeks before your party there is no precooking of the noodles and you do not need to buy special no cook noodles just get the regular ones - honest! I've done this for years. Since I stopped putting meat into mine I also stopped cooking the jared sauce so this is a no cooking deal, just time and, for me as I'm not a neat cook, messy.
Get out your pans, large bowls for mixing the ricotta cheese (I beat eggs into mine), sitrring in any seasonings into the sauce (if you do that) and also if you're adding in any tomatoes and then another bowl for the grated motzrella.
Then you just start layering with the uncooked lasanga noodles, sauce and cheeses as you would normaly do.
When you're all done put the pans into the freezer. One important thing here, the pans are going to be heavy!!!! and you need to be sure to support them on the way to the freezer and be very! sure they are level in there untill they are solidly frozen.
When you are ready to cook a pan you may either defrost it or cook it directly from the freezer or if you are like me and sometimes forget to get the pan out in time to fully defrost it, it can go into the oven semi frozen.
There is no need to adjust your baking time because the pasta was uncooked, there is something about it having been frozen that compensates and it worked just fine.

Don't like so heavy an Italian meal? Get out your crock pot and pick out your favorite recipie and pop something in there. Then put your efforts into salad or aptizers & desert and setting the table and maybe putting some fresh flowers around the living room. Your guests will think you were killing yourself all week and you will be relaxed and you'll get to enjoy yourself at the party & the flowers for several days.

Have fun no matter what you serve.

I love parties! And I love taking things to parties for everyone to enjoy! Here are some of my favorites:

1. Fresh cheese platter with brie, manchenga, farmers cheese, Irish cheddar and crisp chilled green grapes. Serve with thin slices of baguette.
2. Chedderwurst sausages wrapped in breadstick dough. Cut each wurst in half so that you end up with 12 per package. Take Pillsbury breadsticks and cut the dough in half. Rotate dough down the sausage in a spiral fashion and bake at 375 degrees until golden and cooked. Serve with mustards and catsup.
3. Hot artichoke and crab dip served with tortilla chips.
4. Meatballs in a breadbowl with extra marinara for dipping.
5. Spinach dip in a bread bowl with jalapeno powder to spice things up a bit.
6. Shrimp salad in endive leaves
7. Lettuce rollups with barbecued pork, shredded carrots, sprouts, and fresh mint. Have a Japanese chili sauce available for dipping.
8. Brie En Croute: take one sheet puff pastry and place a wheel of brie in the center. Top with caramel ice cream sauce and candied pecans. Fold dough up over the top and tie with bakers twine. Fold ends over in a decorative fashion and brush pastry with a mixture of egg and water. Bake at 375 degrees until puffed and golden. Serve with artisan crackers.
9. Prawns with slices of lemon and cocktail sauce.
10. Artichoke and green chili quiches (mini).

Have fun!
