hi everyone! I am an italian student, and I have to write 2 paragraphs on the relation between the church and AIDS sufferers...can u help me find ideas plz???
this is what I have written so long...
I think that everyone, especially the church should help sick and suffering people.
The Christians say that caring about other people is very important, I say that is one of their duties.
If church is against sex before the marriage I think that they should at least help promoting the use of condom because that would help to stop the spreading of HIV virus.
The fact is that church people shouldn't care about what disease a certain person has but the only thing to do should be to help them in difficult moments also if they know that they're going to die.
Especially in Africa, in the small hospitals among the poor people there should be nuns and priests to help people that have lost everything and the only thing they've got is God.

thanx 4 the help!!!! 10 points to the best!!!!

The book of Romans chapter 1 verse 27 states "And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one towards another, men with men working that which is unseemly, and recieving within themselves the penalty for their perversion. "

This does not, however grant us the right as human beings to be uncompassionate, but instead, be the lights of this world that we are intended to be by sharing our compassion with those in need. Even it is something they have brought upon themselves, we have a moral obligation to lead by example...

"...For I am the Father of lights, and you are the children of Light."

I suggest talking to local churches as well and getting their point of view on this matter and how they think they would handle and AIDS patient being a part of visiting their church. This would probably help you negate some of the stereotypes that people put on churches and the AIDS epidemic. You can also take it from a stand point of how many people actually have AIDS and are in the church and see if you can get some sort of statistical information. The lady before me said something about Homosexuals and the churches response to them and this disease. I think that was a great point.

First of all I have to say you really need to re-read this and edit it. there are a lot of flow and grammar mistakes. Secondly i think your teacher is not wanting to know what you think the church should be, but how they feel about the AIDS epidemic, and how it is caught and spread. Since a loarge amount of AIDS infected people are Homosexual, this could be an aspect to look into. We all know how most churches feel about that subject, but if a Homosexual with AIDS were to ask them for help would they? I suggest talking to your local churches about it.

is the point of your paragraphs to chastize the churches for discrimination against AIDS patients? I do not think this is occuring...in my Catholic religion we believe pre-marital sex and homosexuality are sins...but that does not mean that we shun the sinner....it is the medical fields responsibility to promote safe sex practices to prevent the spread of any STD, not the church's....and not all AIDS sufferers had pre-marital sex or engage in homosexual activities...I think the relationship between the church and AIDS sufferers is the same as anyone who is suffering in any physical or mental way...

Why don't you contact your local Christian church and ask these questions? Of course, the church helps victims of diseases, etc. You're missing the point about their faith and beliefs if you think they should promote the use of condoms. The State should be doing that. Parents too.
