Has anyone ever woken up from sleep but been unable to move? You try to scream and you cant, and you start to panic. What causes this and how can you get it to stop?

Yep. People used to tell e that when u sleep ur body paralyzes itself so that u don't act out ur dreams. But if u wake up all of a sudden then ur mentally aware and alert but ur body is still paralyzed. my mom and myself believe that satan takes advantage of this normal phenomenon to strike fear into people's hearts, because when it happens to me , I always have an overwhelming sense of fear and on some occasions I feel/see 'someone' in the bed next to me ( I sleep alone) or at the foot of my bed. my mom told me to call on Jesus' name, because that's the only name that evil fears-after all light banishes darkness. the only problem with that was that I couldn't move my lips to say a prayer, so I would think it really hard-I mean really hard, and after a few seconds the 'paralysis' would ease up off of me. evil can not be in the presence of goodness. For a while though, I was scared to go to sleep ,so I would stay up real late mindful to not pray before I went to sleep because I thought that's what brought these attacks on me. However I realized that that's exactly what satan wants, for us to lose faith and think that God isn't there to protect us. So I started praying again every night and telling myself that I wouldn't be scared of a being that uses such juvenile scare tactics and waits until night to operate. I haven't had those paralysis episodes in a while ( a few months) but they have reoccurred recently (a couple weeks ago) and its been on days when I was particularly inattentive and unappreciative of God's grace, but I prayed in Jesus' name as it happened and the paralysis and fear eased up off of me.

Some people call it sleep-apnea, and it probably is but that doesn't make evil any less real-satan uses real, natural phenomenon ( proof of his restricted abilities, he is not all powerful like God!)

I know this sounds crazy to most of u and u probably think I’m some 'deluded, simple-minded' Christian, but u can't deny that in every culture people report cases like this all the time -'old hag' exists everywhere. Just have faith guys :)

ive been getting that in the last 6 months.... sometimes it happens 2 days in a row sometimes once or twice a month.. but gah it sucks.. it varies what actually happens though, its always an evil spirit of some sort... when i wake up in the morning still in a very dream like state.. i cant close my eyes for more than 10 seconds because if i do then i feel the paralysis coming 10 fold.. so ive learned to control it sort of, but i remember a year ago i had an experience of that before actually going to sleep, the night time ones arent too common but whenever this happens its like a demonic creature.. ive had some weird ones like a little evil girl on top of me or a demon on the side of me.. weird stuff, but eh, they dont really affect me anymore since i know how to control it, just dont close ur eyes for more than 10 seconds at a time if it happens to u ^_^
