Hi
Low iron isn't really a sign of diabetes, I am an insulin dependent diabetic and the only time my iron was low was during pregnancy. If she is not really feeling like food and is carrying weight around the middle and drinking a lot, these could be signs. Other signs to look out for are,
Intense thirst
Weight loss
Frequent need to pass water
Tiredness
Metallic taste in mouth
Boils/ ulcers/ skin problems etc.
Those really are the main signs of diabetes, but no matter what I think your friend needs some more medical assistance.
Good luck

I am writing to tell you what an incredible impact these methods had on my life! I have had type 2 diabetes for 27 years. For me, the worst part of this horrible disease is the severe pain I constantly get in my feet. The pain is so bad that I avoid standing and walking as much as possible. I've got to tell you that within the first month, my feet stopped hurting altogether and I can now walk totally pain free.
Believe it or not, I even danced at my niece's wedding last month, something I have not done in a many years. I've been following the book for six months now and my blood sugar is well within normal range. I feel great!
I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

Low iron is a sign that you need to see a doctor. If you have a particular concern about diabetes then your should raise it with your doctor as well.
You can also contact NHS Direct on 0845 4647 (24 hrs) to speak to a nurse for confidential advice first if you wish.
Low iron levels will cause similar symptoms to diabeties, but they are not normally related.

Many common natural remedies are claimed to have blood sugar lowering properties that make them useful for people with or at high risk of diabetes. Learn here https://tr.im/5yEBx
A number of clinical studies have been carried out in recent years that show potential links between herbal therapies and improved blood glucose control, which has led to an increase in people with diabetes using these more 'natural' ingredients to help manage their condition.

There is no link between diabetes and iron dificiency. This is due to one of three things, inadequate intake, failure to absorb iron or blood loss.

Has your friend been tested for PCOS, Cushing's syndrome and thyroid problems ?
What about Celiac disease ?
I would have all those checked out.
