What should I do? We just had unprotected sex 2 days ago!!! Couldn't he have told me before that! I'm upset but if I were in his shoes I'd be scared to death to tell my partner also. He says he's been taking two pills a day and hasn't had an outbreak in years... so does that mean I wouldn't contract it as long as he takes his medication? I want to stay with him but I have so many mixed feelings about this. Also, he has diabetes and he can't ejaculate (something about it going to his bladder -- what the heck??) I think he may have too much baggage to carry out a relationship but I still like him so much!! and I'm glad he told me, any other guy would never have the balls... any advice, thoughts, PLEEEASE!! Thank you

If a person has sex with someone who has genital herpes there will ALWAYS be a chance they can contract the virus.

Condoms ONLY cover the penis and not the entire genital area. Herpes can be spread by DIRECT skin to skin contact. So, just the rubbing back and forth of the genital skin during sex or foreplay is enough to spread the virus.

Condoms HELP prevent the spread of the virus, him taking antiviral medication HELPS, and not having sex or doing anything sexual while he is on an outbreak can HELP prevent spreading the virus, but nothing is truly 100% effective except for abstinence.

There are several couples out there though who have been lucky and haven't spread the virus. One partner has genital herpes and the other doesn't. I was personally in a 4 year relationship with one of my exs and he never contracted the virus from me. So, it can happen! Right now I am in a 2 year relationship with my fiance and he, unfortunately, contracted the virus from me within a month of having sex together. I hadn't had an outbreak for almost a year at that time and he STILL contracted the virus from me!

If you are planning on staying with him and having sex with him then you need to be aware that there will ALWAYS be a chance that it can spread to you.

Take care and good luck!

I got clinically diagnosed with the herpes simplex virus (type 2) about six years ago, when I was still attending college and had a stupid one-night stand. I just made a massive mistake that one time and suddenly I felt like I was going to have to live with the consequences for the rest of my life. The worst part was feeling I could never date guys again. In the end, who wants to go out with someone that has sores around her you-know-what? But since a friend shared this video everything changed https://tr.im/herpesTreatments2015fyod

Not only was I able to clear away all traces of the hsv from my body in less than 21 days, but I was also able to begin dating once more. I even met the man of my dreams. This method provided me the opportunity to be happy and experience real love. Now I want to enable you too by sharing this with the whole World.

My best friend has had genital herpes for about eight months now, and it's been really rough. She's had about 7 outbreaks. Everywhere I read it says it stops flaring up so much after time, but its not getting less frequent for her. She's been on Antiviral meds the whole time, too. She also has type 1 diabetes which she has had her whole life, which really weakens her immune system. Will it ever get better?

But after a friend share this video everything has changed.

I've never ever heard of a diabetic not being able to ejaculate...I'll try to remember to not have that awkward conversation with my diabetic father. To the herpes question, as those commercials for that medication say, it is possible to spread herpes even if you don't have outbreaks. Perhaps it's not true and he's saying it to get out of having sex with you? See a doctor to be safe and get further advice from them. Best wishes to you.

What a jerk. If he really cared about you he would have told you about the herpes before you had unprotected sex. Herpes can be transmitted even when a person is not experiencing an outbreak and it is not curable. You need to make an appt. with your doctor to get checked out and I would advise you not to sleep with him again without protection.

I hear you can't get it unless they have a outbreak. But I'd still go get tested and ask your doctor about it. He should've told you before you two had sex and at the very least he should've wore a condom. That stuff is serious and if you get it, you'll have it for the rest of your life. Then you'll have to be embarrassed and tell your sex partners.

it think he should have told you before he unprotected sex with you. i don't think he cared about your future and what you felt. he is a jerk, if he really and i mean really cared about you he would have told you.
and not using a condom, not giving you an option whether you want to risk it or not is just wrong. very wrong.

i also could see why he wouldn't want to tell something like that, but i think he should have waited to have sex with you and of course use a condom, just out of respect. him not using a condom is unacceptable. period.

go get your self tested and do not have sex until the results come back. He should have told you before it went that far. If you go to the doctor or clinic they can give you a bunch of info and feed back.

He sounds like a jerk if he told you After having unprotected sex.

Chances are if he has had no outbreaks, you should be fine, but he should have told you. Dump Him.
