I just discovered that these contain whey. However, they insist on being vegetarian, some of them vegan. Does this mean that the whey might come from another place, like plants rather then animals?

Yeah, they're really good- and the only food i have in the house at this point. So i really need to know if they're vegetarian or not. I contacted the company but it will probably take them like a week or more to get back to me...

I don't care if it's vegan, just vegetarian, by the way.

i dont believe there is such thing as a plant derived whey product, but if you have a kroger near you, they have potato and onion pirogies by golden gourmet that i believe are vegan; though you should check yourself as i dont know all of the tricky ingredients in foods. but if they pass your inspection, they are delicious!

Whey is ok for vegetarians. If you like Mrs. T's you should try some fresh ones from a Polish deli!

I contacted them about this once. Despite their claims to be vegetarian their cheese is made with animal rennet and is therefore not vegetarian. I have emailed them numerous times asked them to not claim their cheese pierogies are vegetarian but they just ignore me now.

I wouldn't trust this company.

Whey is a dairy product. I don't know about that brand, but some pierogies have chicken broth; so read the ingredients (which you already are).

Whey is strictly dairy. No other source. You are OK since you aren't vegan.

I tried to look on their website but couldn't find much. It does have a warning that they are produced along with dairy items. Plus, I don't know which kind you have. Check it out, hope that helps...
