Chlamydia is known as a "silent" disease because about three quarters of infected women and about half of infected men have no symptoms. If symptoms do occur, they usually appear within 1 to 3 weeks after exposure.

In women, the bacteria initially infect the cervix and the urethra (urine canal). Women who have symptoms might have an abnormal vaginal discharge or a burning sensation when urinating. When the infection spreads from the cervix to the fallopian tubes (tubes that carry eggs from the ovaries to the uterus), some women still have no signs or symptoms; others have lower abdominal pain, low back pain, nausea, fever, pain during intercourse, or bleeding between menstrual periods. Chlamydial infection of the cervix can spread to the rectum.

Men with signs or symptoms might have a discharge from their penis or a burning sensation when urinating. Men might also have burning and itching around the opening of the penis. Pain and swelling in the testicles are uncommon.

Men or women who have receptive anal intercourse may acquire chlamydial infection in the rectum, which can cause rectal pain, discharge, or bleeding. Chlamydia can also be found in the throats of women and men having oral sex with an infected partner.

Chlamydia is a sexually transmitted disease (STD). It is a bacterial infection caused by a pathogen (germ) Chlamydia trachomatis that usually infects the genitals of both men and women, but can also infect the throat, rectum and eyes. Chlamydia is one of the most common STD's - and because more than 50% who have chlamydia have no symptoms at all - chlamydia infection usually goes untreated. About 65% of women and 50% of men who have chlamydia have no symptoms at all; others have symptoms so mild they aren't noticeable.

Chlamydia Symptoms in Women:
-An unusual vaginal discharge
-Pain or a burning sensation when passing urine
-Bleeding between periods
-Pain during sex or bleeding after sex
-Low abdominal pain sometimes with nausea

Chlamydia Symptoms in Men:
-White/cloudy, watery discharge from the tip of the penis
-Pain or a burning sensation when passing urine
-Testicular pain and/or swelling

Without treatment, chlamydia infection can spread to other parts of the body causing damage and serious long-term health problems.
In women, chlamydia can cause pelvic inflammatory disease, which can lead to:

-Ectopic pregnancy (a pregnancy outside the womb)
-Blocked fallopian tubes (the tubes which carry the egg from the ovaries to the womb), which can result in reduced fertility or infertility
-Long-term pelvic pain
-Early miscarriage or premature birth

In men, chlamydia can lead to:

-Painful inflammation of the testicles, which may result in reduced fertility or sterility
-Occasionally, Reiter's syndrome (inflammation of the joints, urethra and eyes)

painfull admomen, discharge, pain with peeing . bad smell to discharge. the proplem is that alot of people do not have symptoms especially women that is why it is passed so esily. using a condom is not that hard. I would rather ruin the mood than get an std. You will be ok.... just need to take controll of your own actions

It feels like a bacterial an infection to me; perchance a severe urinary tract an infection. Ask your healthcare professional to order an Urine subculture & Sensitivity attempt, so the causing organism(s) would nicely be suggested and the right antibiotic for its remedy determined.

You get testicular pain which slowly gets worse over the course of months... if left untreated long enough, it causes sterility.

It is easily treated...
