It generally means a lot of recycling and being very conservative when it comes to energy usage.

It's always a good idea to conserve energy and resources as well as to reduce pollution levels. In the US, our pollution levels have been steadily decreasing since the 80's, and for that I'm glad. I just wish the rest of the world would do the same, especially China where they dump raw sewage into the rivers where the people get their water.

I love the color green and I wish that people would stop trashing its good name for environmental causes. That statement alone does not mean that I don’t like clean water or clear air . Yes; I too am environmentally green when it comes to trashing the planet, but people today have taken it too far.
Environmentalists have poisoned peoples minds to the western urbanization of the world, but manage to exclude countries like China. Catseyn… is right about the China.
Let the rest of the world first come up to our own standards before we go and blame the good old U.S.A.
In conclusion I would say that blaming the U.S.A. and instilling fears about how the planet is warming, is instilling undue fears into people, is a smokescreen for making money, and I do mean BIG money.

It does not matter if you live in a city or a rural area. Each and everyone of us is responsible for what we do to the environment.Seperating glass, paper.aluminium, etc all goes a long way towards recycling. Thus saving the planet.Waste of any kind or description has to be managed responsibly. We can all save energy by simple things like switching off everything when it is not in use.Harnessing natural resources like wind, water, could change climate change drastically ,and the sooner that we go these ways the better.Chicago is a community but the pollution factor is sky high.So in reply to your question all that going green means is to be aware of the environment around you and look after it for future generations to come.
