I have Orthostatic Hypotention, also known as P.O.T.S. Positional Orthastatic Tachycardia Syndrome. So doing daily living things is hard because my heart races and causes my ears to ring, my vision to go black, my legs to give out and I know I have to lay down before I fall. My family helps the best they can but there are things I still do-scrub the toilets, shower, bath etc. I just want to be able to walk up my stairs without my heart rate going into the 100's. I want to take a shower without a bath seat in case I get week. I can't exercise, I use a walker and I will be 35 next month. There are no medications for this so far since it doesn't really effect the blood pressure-until recently. I know the usuall stuff, counslers, have family help more etc. I am looking for some ways to cope, not get things done.
Any advise would be great.
Thank you in advance for your time.

hi Amber we've talked befor. i dont have a heart problem but i know how it feels to not be able to do the thangs that i use to. I'm a bi latrel amputee. I think that acceptance is the key.
every morning that i wake up and can put my feet on and walk to the bathroom is a good day. And i thank God for allowing me to do so. I work a little but i have to set down a lot on account that my stumps will bruise if i stay on them to long. i steel get frustrated a lot cause i cant work like i use to. but i steel thank God for the opportunity to be able to do what i can.

I suppose you have looked into beta blockers or pace maker as options, and ruled these out?.

If you are able to do isometric exercises with your legs, it could help reduce the severity of the symptoms. Isometrics are ones where you flex the muscles without moving them - you can do these while lying down.
