I have a black and decker rice cooker, after less than 2.5 years the coating on the bottom has worn off, and I can't clean it so need another one. I hate to send this to the land fill, any ideas on how it might be recycled?

Offer it on freecycle.org. which is another Yahoo group to save things from landfills. You never know what will appeal to others. Just be sure to be clear about its condition when you post the offer.

Can you not still use it as a pan?

If you can't use if for somthing else, I'd drill holes in the bottom and use it as a plant pot myself. Hit it with a hammer 'till you can recycle it appropriately, metal for recycling and plastics for landfill etc.

I don't actually know what a rice cooker is, so I'll stand corrected.

Many appliances are made to have the worn parts replaced. If you are the least bit handy and so inclined visit black & decker's website: www.prodprotect.com/applica,
or call them to get the parts you need:
• If you need parts or accessories, please call 1-800-738-0245.

Good luck!
