I am having my wedding on a river boat. Which choice would you pick for the menu?

CHOICE 1:

Freshly cut Fruit
Garden Vegetable Basket with dip
Teriaki Chicken Drumettes
Barbecue Meatballs
Sundried Tomato and Basil Torta
Pasta Salad

CHOICE 2:

Carved Top Round of Beef (Or turkey)
Garden Vegetable Basket wit Dip
Freshly Cut Fruit
Pasta Salad
Sundried Tomato and Basil Tort
Mini Rolls and condiments

These are the only options i have on the boat. Hey at least it's no hassle :)

I also agree with choice #2. It is less messy and more filling. I would be so angry if I spilled a BBQ meatball or teriaki chicken on myself! It is a larger and more noticeable stain than carved beef or turkey-especially on a moving boat!

congratulations :-)

The second one seems less messy but that's only because Choice 1 includes Teriaki Chicken Drummettes. Are people going to using their fingers for that?

I love the idea of a just appetizer reception. Sit down dinners get boring really fast. I had an appetizer reception for my first wedding. That said, I pick #1.

That is a great Idea. I would go with #2 it seems a little cleaner. The chicken and meatballs could get messy and you will want to eat so go with the one that will be less mess. Have fun and congrats

I'd go with number 2 personally, because its going to be more filling for your guests and most likely less messy than drumettes and meatballs. See if your caterer will throw in a cheese platter, or if you can bring one yourself, to round things out a bit.

I think it depends on when your reception is. If it's a mid-afternoon or late evening celebration, serving just drinks and appetizers is fine. If it's right at the traditional dinner time, though, you'll want to serve a larger meal. The last thing you want is to have your guests leaving hungry.

I like going to parties with just appetizers. I think that people tend to mingle more with the other guests which makes for a better party.

So, for me, I'd go for choice 1...

I would choose #1. For our wedding reception we had appetizers as opposed to a sit down meal, and it went over well. The guests could mingle more and it was a more relaxed atmosphere.
