spitting up muccus too....green!

I was sick about 3 months ago. i got sick after a camping trip duing the weeked. I began coughing, weezing, sneezing, got watery eyes, had a sore throat, runny nose, coughing up muccus. It was really bad.

Then I started getting better. Well so I thought. My nose wasnt runniing as much and i was spitting out a lot of muccus so i thoguht that it was coming to an end. But The cough continued. It got worse. It hasn't stopped since.

I had to leave the movie theatre this one time because I couldn't stop coughing and i didnt want to irritate the people. I drink a lot of water daily. it just comes out of no where.sometimes it gets so bad to the point where I have food come back up my throat. nearly throwing up. =(
I want to see a docotr but I dont have insurance. And I know they will charge me an arm and a leg. it could be bronchitis....idk but it's scary

A few things can be triggering your cough. It is likely that you have a respiratory infection in which you need to get an antibiotic such as Azithromycin but you will need a doctor to write a prescription for this medication. You can have an irritant in your lungs or throat that needs to be flushed out. I recommend you take fiber capsules and drink plenty of water throughout the day. Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day, maybe even more. The reason is that if it is an irritant in your lungs, you want to flush it out and drinking lots of water will help do this. Over the counter there is Delsym or Robitussin DM which both have Dextromethorphan in it which is a cough suppressant. I would also take some anti-inflammatory drugs such as Advil or Motrin (ibuprofen) because when tissue is inflamed it means it is irritated and agitated to a great extent. You need this inflammation to go down in order to get better so I would try taking a few (two) of the 200mg tablets of ibuprofen every 6 hours. It is important you take them every six hours because every dose builds off the one before it. If you miss a dose you are allowing the inflammation to continue. Try this and see if it helps, otherwise it could be a respiratory infection. Hope this helps, stay healthy.

Chronic bronchitis? Did you have the flu before the cough hit?

Sometimes the flu will weaken your system and bronchitis will hitch a ride.

Do you smoke? That would be a clue.

Do you live in the desert southwest? There is a fungus in the soil that causes "Valley Fever". A skin test can rule that out. Treatment is available.

See you doctor!

I won't pretend to be a pseudo doctor and tell you what is wrong.

You relentless cough is best left to your doctor.
If you have no doctor this might be a good time to get one.

My dad had a cough like that and six months he was dead.
A close friend of mine had throat cancer and beat it.

I hope you get the picture!
Get a professional opinion and stop fooling around.

Your life and good health are not worth fooling around with.

Good luck to you and hop you feel better soon.

You should go to your family doctor or a pulmonary specialist to get it checked out. That's much too long to have a cough. You could have bronchitis and that could turn into pneumonia if left untreated.

You need to see a doctor and get on antibiotics. It sounds like you have a bad case of bronchitis. It should have cleared up on its own by now. But it hasn't so you need to see a doctor.

do you smoke? If not colds are viruses that can last for a long time. Also allergy season is upon us so it could be that. I would look into taking Musenex and maybe some benedryl
