Baking cookies for Christmas always started at Thanksgiving at my house.

When the kids were little and still at home, I'd bake non-stop for several weeks. Those cookies, mini tea breads, and candy went everywhere. They made perfect gifts for teachers, friends, relatives, the mailman and neighbors.

My mom and dad liked the little Andes Mint filled Spritz I made. I always liked Chocolate Crinkles, Mexican Wedding Cakes and my grandmother's War Cake. The kids liked to help decorate the sugar cookies and of course snitch as many as they could.

Now, I try to get in a little baking with my grandchildren on extended weekend trips (They live in another state.) I also bake a little for my significant other and myself. It's hard to break old habits, especially when they are pleasurable. :)

that's what I do. I make the dough and scoop out the cookies with a medium scoop. Then I placed the pan interior the freezer and freeze. whilst they are frozen I placed them in a zipper maximum suitable bag. So whilst i desire cookies I purely take a pair of dough balls out of the freezer and bake. Saves the prep time yet no longer the cook dinner time. you ought to bake and defrost i think of however the feel could no longer be an identical.

I make all kinds. I get some friends together and we have a cookie baking marathon!
Favorites:
Chocolate chip (of course!)
Chocolate peanut butter chip (on back of reeses peanut butter chip bag)
Oatmeal craisin (I hate raisins lol)
Almond cookies (these are my fave, rolled in powdered sugar)
Butter Spritz (everyones favorite has many variations, i roll some batter into balls make a thumbprint and fill with various types of jelly)
Lemon cooler cookies
I hand them out to friends and family and take them to work.
I also make fudge too, people ask every year when that is coming.
I love to bake and I always use real butter! Kitchenaid mixer makes it really easy!
What are your faves, I'm always open to suggestion!
