believe it or not, this could explain a good bit about reality to me - something that fascinates me :)
i thought that artificial pacemakers were put in, replacing a heart - but apparently not?
and apparently, we dont have brains hooked up to machines - which i find curious.

Yes, there are artificial hearts. They function similar to a real heart, but are not actually hearts.

Pacemakers just try to keep your heart in the proper rhythm. Operations on the heart have improved over the years and I know that they have a mechanical heart but it is not a long term solution. They also have the machine that does the job of your heart during heart replacement surgery but again short term solution. It would be great if we could just order up what organ we need, wouldn't it? Someday but not today.

There is the ECHO machine, it works to oxygenate and pump the blood when the baby's heart/lung are not able to. It is only used for a short period of time, generally giving the preterm baby a little more time to grow before heart surgery to fix the problem.

What are you talking about....All that I have learned has said that we need a heart..Pacemakers keep your heart going, it doesnt replace it.

I dont understand how our brain could ever be hooded up to machines

your heart pumps the blood through out your body. with out a heart the rest of your body doesn't get blood. What is this a school paper?? read your text book or go to the library.
