Do people who inject vitamin B12 or insulin daily suffer any major problems in the long run? Damaged veins? Permanent marks? etc? The syringes used are 1cc AFAIK.

Those injections are given in the muscle, so there's no vein damage. Also, you should be varying the injection sites.

You don't inject insulin into a vein, you inject under the skin-something like subcutaneously-not sure of spelling. Even injecting under the skin can cause problems so you rotate where you inject yourself. If you inject the same area all the time, it can become like leather and loose feeling and the ability to absorb the insulin. Same way when we have to stick our fingers to find out our blood sugar level. You also need to know that insulin needles are very small and you can buy them fairly short. Other than a slight prick when you go through the skin, you barely know the needle is in. Sometimes I have to look to be sure. One time I was talking and getting ready to inject. I stuck the needle into my opposite thumb-all the way through-and didn't realize why I couldn't get my hands apart. Other times it burns like fire. I use the WalMart brand 1 cc 31 gauge, short. Get the thinnest, shortest needles available.
And, as I was instructed by my doctor and all those phamplets, you don't move all around your body when injecting insulin. Each shot should be done within a certain distance of the last or you lose effectiveness--so I just do a line and keep going. . .

Insulin is a subcutaneous injection and will not affect veins. Vitamin B-12 is an intramuscular injection and also will not affect veins.

However, injection sites should be varied to avoid scar tissue build up. For instance, if you inject in your right thigh one time, you should inject in your left thigh the next time.

Insulin is injected subcutaneously.
There is no harm to the veins.
