The interventions in this scenario are often focused on the client's actual condition. (The reason why bronchoscopy was performed)

There aren't much interventions after this, other than close observation.
Well, here are the ones I could give:

- Keep the client in semi-fowler's position.
(to facilitate ease in breathing, and prevent aspiration, since the client is sedated)

- Assess for respiratory difficulty. Note the rate, quality, pattern, depth of breaths or use of accessory muscles
(dyspnea may result from laryngospasm)

- Nurses should closely observe the client's condition for 2-4 hours, usually every 15 minutes, until the client's condition becomes stable and the effects of the sedative drugs have worn out. (As manifested by a positive gag reflex)

- Monitor Vital Signs.

after a bronchoscopy make sure you stay in recovery until you feel your comfortable to go home, someone will have to take you home you will be sedated, possible side affects are coughing you may want a cough suppressant , coughing up blood but normal only a few days after anything more than that contact you pulmonary Dr you may need some antibiotics for inflammation, sore nose depending if your Dr went through you nose or throat may need nasal spray, the procedure is pretty safe.

You would want to
1. monitor the heart rate
2. monitor blood pressure
3. document pts. level of consciousness due to being sedated
for procedure
4. do not give anything to eat or drink for usually 4 hrs
(depending on Dr.) due to numbing medication in back of
throat could cause aspiration
5. observe for coughing and production of sputum, especially
if it is bloody
