and he drinks alcohol quite a bit everyday and doesn't eat healthy??

He is almost 40 years old and I just recently met him-is this a sure sign to get out before it gets serious between us-not taking care of himself??

Please note that diabetic neuropathy may lead to erectile dysfunction even at present or in the near future. Life expectancy is also shorter for chronic alcoholics.

I am writing to tell you what an incredible impact these methods had on my life! I have had type 2 diabetes for 27 years. For me, the worst part of this horrible disease is the severe pain I constantly get in my feet. The pain is so bad that I avoid standing and walking as much as possible. I've got to tell you that within the first month, my feet stopped hurting altogether and I can now walk totally pain free.

Believe it or not, I even danced at my niece's wedding last month, something I have not done in a many years. I've been following the book for six months now and my blood sugar is well within normal range. I feel great!

I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

I'm with abby.

No diabetic should drink alcohol "quite a bit". He's very lucky to have lived this long. My friend, Jamie, was a type one who did not heed the warnings and died in his thirties.

My feeling is this, why get involved with someone who doesn't care enough about himself to insure that he's the best he can be for other folks? Does that make sense?

If he isn't going to take care of himself, then you can't. He is on a slow, sure road to early death unless he wakes up. But you can't do it for him. He has to want to be healthy and then take the proper steps to ensure that he can preserve what health he has. Drinking is not good, not eat right even worse. Insulin cannot cure or even keep him stable unless he tries. I say, get while the getting is good.

ALARM BELLS ARE GOING OFF!
Im sorry to say love, but you should definately worry.
Being in a relationship with ANYONE who drinks alcohol "quite a bit" especially daily is not a good thing.
To add to this list he doesnt eat healthy, and is insulin dependant.
Id say keep your distance, dont get yourself into a mess.

My father didn't take care of himself and he was a insulin dependent diabetic, he lost one leg and his vision. Maybe he is just slacking right now. Give him a chance, see if he is the kind of person you want to be with. Maybe he just doesn't care right now because he thinks no one else does. Date him and see, just don't let yourself get carried away with him until you are sure that you can handle everything. :)

Not unless YOU want to take care of him later. He is possibly killing himself. Some diabetics actually do better with alcohol. Don't tell him that. Everybody's body is different.

Do you want to be his personal nurse 24/7 in the near future? It is totally up to you if you want to be his nurse. You certainly have a choice and this is the perfect time to make that decision. Personally I get out of it as soon as possible. How can you love someone who doesn't love himself? Taking care of oneself is an indication of self-love. What makes you think that he is going to care more for you than himself?

Yes. It's pretty simple. Alcohol is sugar. He is killing himself because he is not controlling himself. Get out!!!!!! Even if he didn't have diabetes, I would tell you to get out because he is an alcoholic. With diabetes, he will die a horrible death and he knows it but chooses to drink. Go and don't look back. He's not worth your time and please don't try to save him---save yourself. Go. . . .and go quickly. . .
