None whatsoever, clothes do not dry stiff if you use vinegar as a fabric conditioner, rotary air dryers take up very little space, as to the weather, I dry them as best as possible on the line when it is really wet then I put them near the wood burning stove to finish off. Imagine how much cheaper electricity bills would be if a tumble dryer was not used.

No, there are no good reasons that I know of. If the laundry is stolen, bleached, or pooped on by birds when you hang it outside then hang it inside instead. The same goes for pollen and heavy scents. If the air is very humid make sure that the clothes has a lot of room around them and that you turn thick clothes. It will take longer time to dry, but it will eventually dry. There are racks were you can place clothes that you don't want to hang because they stretch, so that's not an excuse either.
The only time I've used a tumble dryer was when we lived in an apartment that had one for a couple of months over 20 years ago. I've never missed it.

If it's humid, rainy or the neighbor's bar-b-cue smoke if going to linger on the clothes, then a dryer is good enough reason to use. If you use the dryer all the time your whites will not be as white. The sun keeps the whites whiter. Another plus for the dryer is the colors stay better if you use the dryer, unless you dry your colors in the shade.

If you have allergies and live in a place with lots of pollen, it can get on the clothes or sheets and cause you trouble. Other than that, I like using a clothesline when I can.

Usually I like using a clothesline, but once a bird that had been eating berries pooped on my drying clothes (a white shirt) and stained it, but other than that I have no complaints.

You might consider it weather... but if your climate is just too humid. It could take days for your clothes to try on their own... you might have mill-dew by then.
But clotheslines are the best!

For me, the first choice was to use the clothesline - until I found out that one by one of my clothes/tea towels/towels etc grew legs, did a walk-about and disappeared.....
(Yes, I live in a big block of apartments, in a 'funky' suburb. Maybe just part and parcel of living in this 'funky' suburb)
(Yes, I have been hanging them inside. And, in a 7mx7m apartment, that means I don't use clothes-line. I use clothes-horse.)

No, not really.
And if you live in a place where you clothes tend to go missing, try hanging them inside. I have a string hanging across my laundry room so if I don't want to hag my clothes outside, they can dry inside. Works just as well, and great for when it's rainy!

The clothes dry stiff. They come out much softer from a tumble dryer, especially if you use a fabric softener.
