My opinion is that animals are for playtime, relaxing, or a pet. I there weren't animals there would be nothing in the ocean. You can't have time with your pets, and you can't run around with them. The cartoons would have no chickens in the morning and no fun. There are a lot of reasons that I want animals on Planet Earth.

Well obviously not all animals were here for food but to balance out everything probably for a test of some kind to see who could survive like the saber toothed tiger and t-Rex they didn't make it but we did and i believe that we all have the ability and choice to eat meat because we do have canine teeth so we do eat meat just like chimps do. Animals are just like us and we're all going to be eaten some day once you think about it some herbivore might eat the grass that our bodies have died and decomposed on we could be growing fruits and vegetables with dead animal parts that have decomposed. And they're all apart of life especially since we're all animals ourselves.

animals are here because they are.. just like humans exist. they don't need a reason to be here. like someone else said above they're here to balance out the ecosystem.
people who say stuff like that don't think for themselves, ask them if they'd eat their pet cat or dog and see what they have to say... yup, it's gonna be a stupid response. animals purpose in life is not be fully used by humans, that's why people don't eat ALL animals. they eat some types of animals because the society taught them to do so.

Millions of years of evolution working to create life. Some species make it and evolve, some cannot handle changes to the environment and become extinct. Man has developed to a point where we can think and reason, which allows us to make decisions, no longer based on survival instincts, but now based on personal values, morality, and social conscience. However, we are, by nature, omnivorous, meaning we eat both vegetation and meat.

I totally agree with mockingbird. We may as well argue on why Mars is here, or Jupiter is here. It's just here. Whether you believe in science (chance events + evolution) or religion (divine intervention), either way, we have no say over it and never had a say, so it is not humans' place to give opinions on why something is here.

My opinion is that animals don't NEED a reason to be here any more than we do. They exist because they do and it's not our place to impose a reason for their existence (especially a reason that justifies cruelty towards them.)
