Most people experience their first outbreak anywhere from 2 - 20 days after being infected with the virus. However, for some people it can take months and even years for them to experience their first outbreak. EVERYONE is different.
If you are concerned you have herpes you can always go to your doctor and get tested. Take care!

I got clinically diagnosed with the herpes simplex virus (type 2) about six years ago, when I was still attending college and had a stupid one-night stand. I just made a massive mistake that one time and suddenly I felt like I was going to have to live with the consequences for the rest of my life. The worst part was feeling I could never date guys again. In the end, who wants to go out with someone that has sores around her you-know-what? But since a friend shared this video everything changed https://tr.im/herpesTreatment20152a4g
Not only was I able to clear away all traces of the hsv from my body in less than 21 days, but I was also able to begin dating once more. I even met the man of my dreams. This method provided me the opportunity to be happy and experience real love. Now I want to enable you too by sharing this with the whole World.

I am absolutely terrified and I feel so alone. I just found out last week that I tested positive for hsv1 and 2. I have been with the same man for the past 10 years and within the last year found out that he has cheated on me with numerous women. I am so scared that I can give it to my children by kissing them and them eating with me...I feel like my whole life has changed. And even though the nurses, my doctor, and websites say that a lot of people have it I still feel like I am by myself. My self esteem has dropped and I feel like I have been used up. But now, My life is very happy.

depending on your body it can take anywhere from a few days to weeks. Some times the symtoms show up in later stages. You should be tested if you think you have it or there could be a possiblitity. Some people have a little bit of symtoms and some people tremendoous amounts of them. Get tested!!

i agree with some of the answers you already got but for some people, they show no symptoms at all and don't know they have HSV. i don't think you can have any symptoms the same day you had intercourse because the virus needs to incubate and hide itself (depending on what you have, oral or genital). but the symptoms can show up weeks, months, years later or like i said, none at all. if you think you can be infected, its always a good idea to go get tested. that way you know what measures you have to take and also to prevent spreading the virus to others.

no, it usually takes at least a few days for any std to incubate and show up. some people with herpes never have an outbreak, and some get them within days.

It takes 10 to 15 days to show the leisons. They are very painful and are going to very noticable. So around that time get checked out. Good luck because this is a long term thing and also can be very painful.

I'm sorry you're worried about this. You're not alone. I got mine, genital warts, I think, a day after sex. And he didn't have ANY signs of it, and didn't even know he had it!! You will not have to question whether or not you have it.. BELIEVE ME you'll KNOW! I'm not sure about it showing up the 'same day', but I'm sure it's possible.
