Yes. that's normal. Check with your doctor first but Mucinex D works fabulous! Cough suppressants are just that...they suppress the cough and don't help expel the mucus. Mucinex D will help get that gunk out quicker.

Oh jeez!
That is NOT puss in your throat!
It is'nt really any better, but it is acualy "mucus" (snot), that has slowly driped, and driped, it's way into your lung cage, and that is why you are coughing so much to cough back up the fluid build up inside your lungs, you may even hear a wheezing comeing from your cheast, and you will get short of breath very easy, so make sure you get rest, and don't do any exsessive cleaning, exerciseing, working, ect, (you get the point) This also causes your heart rate to go up due to the lung blockage and they sometimes give you an inhaler to assist you witth breathing. Make sure you prevent this (cause it always starts as cold, and then progresses) next time, start taking Vitamin C, and Zinc tablets every day before you eat breakfast, or if you want just one tablet to have to swallow, get "Enchinacia" or "Golden Seal" These both have proven cold fighting vitamens in them, but only work if you take one every day, and dont forget! I give them to my "live at home" patient's whom are older and have a hard time fighting off cold's, The "Golden Seal" really work's the best from my experince!

I am so sorry you are feeling this ill. I have Chronic Bronchitis. It is miserable. The gurgling noises and the hacking cough is caused by a build up of thick mucus in you lungs and wind pipe. When the antibiotics kick in, you will feel much better.

That is an abnormal breath sound, called crackles, caused by air passing through phlegm and mucus, produced in your airway. It is a common symptom of bronchitis, which is usually treated with antibiotics and cessasion of smoking.

I don't mean to be crude but that sound is the pus in your lungs.

It's OK though; it's treatable! Here's more info: http://www.ehealthmd.com/library/bronchitis/BCH_whatis.html

Good luck, and I hope you feel better!
