First of all, NO ONE contracts AIDS - they contract HIV. AIDS develops AFTER a person has contracted HIV. HIV becomes AIDS when the CD4 cell count gets low enough (lower than 200 cells/ micro liter of blood).
Infection with HIV occurs by the transfer of blood, semen, vaginal fluid, pre-ejaculate, or breast milk. So, even if your friend didn't ejaculate inside the woman he had sex with, he can still contract HIV if he came in any kind of contact with blood or vaginal fluid.
Take care!

The transmission of the HIV virus can happen when both partners have fluid exchanges.
Semen isn't the only fluid exchanged during sex. So yes, you may become infected with the virus that causes AIDS even if you do not orgasm.
I suggest you go to Planned Parenthood for information on safe sex and to get tested. You health is very important. Dont put yourself at risk!
Hope this helped! :)

HIV transmission has nothing to do with orgasm (for female to male transmission) This is why condoms are around!
