ALL warts are caused by HPV (human papillomavirus).

Warts that affect the genital area are called genital warts.

Common warts can be found on the hands, feet, elbows, and knees, as well as other places on the body.

Plantar warts are found on the soles of the feet. Plantar warts grow inward, generally causing pain when walking.

Subungual or periungual warts form under the fingernail (subungual), around the fingernail or on the cuticle (periungual).

Flat warts are most commonly found on the arms, face or forehead.

Well you know that a genital wart is on your genitals but its similar in physical characteristics as one you would find on the outside of your body. The kind with the little bumps all over it. Genital warts can be smooth also.
