Vegan-ism is a lifestyle like religion. So you say "I am a Christian/Muslim/Whatever" just like you would say "I am a Vegan". You are defining yourself as a person who practices such and such as opposed to saying "I am tall"...tall being an adjective. You wouldn't say "I am vegan" unless you're using the word 'vegan' as an adjective meaning that it would precede a noun that you are attempting to describe eg. "I am a vegan ___________" .

This really sounds like a grammar question.

i would not evaluate it to be self absorbed for somebody to be excited on their maximum in all probability sought after day of the year. So, i think no. If the verbal replace went like this, "chuffed Me Day!" "Oh, it relatively is my Birthday too!" "Who cares? *walks off*" Then i'm able to make certain how that should make the guy a narcissist, yet otherwise... think of roughly it ?

"a vegan" makes it sound like it's a cult or a religion like people who say "I'm A christian." Like I'm one of "them." I'm not one of "them." My veganism is just one of my many facets. I'm vegan.

I usually say, "I'm vegan," but grammatically speaking, I guess either would be okay.

Well I suppose if you are a PETA vegan you say: "I'm a vegan you animal killer you".

Now maybe it would be better to say, "I'm Vegan Sarah, or Vegan Joe" . . .this way you will be sure they know immediately you are some kind of cult member and better than they are. Does that make "senCe"?

it doesn't matter. vegan can be an adjective or a noun. so i'm vegan means that you are describing yourself as vegan, an adjective. i'm a vegan means that you are a vegan, a noun, a type of person. it means the same thing. just different parts of speech.

I hate it when people say "a vegan".

"Oh, are you a vegan?"
"No, I'm a vegan person"

i say nothing... most are incapable of handling it with any formidable maturity.

i figured this out after 20 years.... (adulthood doesn't mean maturity.... so if you expect people to respond with a manner that's acceptable.. forget it.)

i can't believe how adults act also... i say i'm vegetarian and then all the sudden they get a bee up their anus.. and treat me like i think i defecate gold turds.

screw them.

it's none of their biz.
