Maybe you can think of something that she really likes, i.e. movies... era... music and use that as a theme. For her birthday cake you can put a pix of her when she was younger or something like that.

well.... hope this helps have fun!

I just had a surprise 60th for my mom. she was very surprised! we had it at a local restaurant with a room and they had a menu we could choose from. made all the invites ourselves, we also made a picture board of photos from birth to present. I didn't like the whole "over the hill" crap either, I wanted it classy and just did silver purple and pink decorations, we decorated the tables with candles and fake rose petals (dollar store), a vase with single lilies and had a small favor for everyone attending (small candle 50 cents each from Michaels) put at each place setting. I found a book online about the year she was born and had that out so people could look through it. my mom had so much fun chatting with everyone and we took a group shot of everyone there, you could get on of those photo frames people sign and put a nice picture from the event in it. you could do a game about trivia of your moms life ex: who was her first kiss/boyfriend, where did she move after college, whats her favorite food, etc...

The best one I know for someone that age is the
"Ripened to Perfection" party with lots of beautiful fresh fruit...grapes, apples, pears, strawberries, kiwi, starfruit, mangoes...the list is endless and it is so complimentary rather than tastless like the "over the hill" theme which has been over-used. And no matter what refreshments or meal you serve, the fruit bowls are great low cal additions to it. Another plus, huh!

Have a 1957 theme, with music, decorations and costumes out of the 50's.

The sky is the limit. I am partial to a this is your life theme. You can have pictures of her in her younger days blown up into posters for decorations, etc. Play golden oldie music and everyone do the sock hop.

attempt those! A relaxing interest is to have each and every person attempt and do their makeup without mirrors and in line with probability even interior the ineffective of evening to boot, then get somebody to decide who looks the worst, its relatively humorous. or you need to all take a seat in a circle and a million guy or woman holds a digital camera with the self timer on, all strike a pose and bypass it around and notice who it takes a %of, u could have some very humorous p.c.. on the top. I made my subject a colour (mine grew to become into purple) and made the invites that colour, have been given strawberry ice cream, and requested each and every person to positioned on purple outfits. For a craft we embellished mirrors for our lockers in school that i offered on the greenback save. I wasn't constructive the way it grew to become into going to artwork regardless of the undeniable fact that it ended up being relatively relaxing. i could contain some cooking by making use of a grown up. relaxing meals to make contain pizza, tacos, and make-your-very own sundae. bear in mind that relaxing doesnt could desire to be high priced. Its many times the uncomplicated issues in life that are the main useful. Fill your social gathering room with pillows, blankets, bean bag chairs, and filled animals. place quite a few flashlights around for use later interior the night.

theme it in the era of her teenage years - before she got married,

You could make it a Karaoke night and ask the guests to come dressed as their faovourite pop stars from that era and they can Karaoke the songs.

Hilarious (I'm 45 so I've given it quite some thought!)

Hire her a male and female stripper and have them give her a table dance. Invite all her friends and yours and have a blast.
