Hey Chickadee! You probably shouldn't do a treadmill or dobutamine stress test because they will raise your blood pressure and heart rate. However, an adenosine stress test would probably be OK since it is a vaso dilator (vessel opener) and doesn't work to raise the heart rate or blood pressure. It's funny you asked this question because I had a similar occurance happen at work a few months ago with a patient and possibility of multiple basilar artery aneurysms.

I would not do a stress test unless the doctor that diagnosed the aneurysms gave the OK.

First you must tell this to your doctor. The stress test will increase your blood pressure. So the aneurysms may come worse in condition. So if your doctor doesn't know what to do i reffer you not to do stress test. I mean in anykind of stress test. Cause there is two kinds of stress tests. One is chemical one is physical. So as I say talk it to your doctor and don't do if your doctor does not inform you about the danger..

No the test may kill you. I took one and it hurt my heart. if you have aneurysm your tissue is stretchy and the stress, of the stress test will make your aneurysms get bigger.. the test raises blood pressure to dangerous levels the assistant administering the test may not listen to your complaints of pain , and may not turn the machine off when you do complain of pain,, Aneurysm is the number one reason not to ever set foot on a stress test machine!!!!http://www.azstarnet.com/sn/printDS/154436

Do not take the test before your cardiologist says you are fit to take the test. If your cardiologist has deemed you fit to take the stress test, take it.
