I had a cold about 10 days ago and now feel a lot better but I still have a really chesty cough which I can't seem to shift and it's really tiring.
Don't think it's bronchitis because I feel fine in myself. Any advice?

I always suffer with lingering coughs after my cold has gone....

Do you smoke? I used to get a lingering cough after a cold when I smoked and now I just get cold and it goes away after a couple of days.

Its not unusual for a cough to linger a week or two after a respiratory infection. If the cough is producing mucus, you can help speed recovery by taking an expectorant such as Mucinex to loosen the phlegm. If the cough is more a response to irritation and not producing mucus, then you can take a cough suppressant such as Delsym. If the cough doesn't show any improvement in another week, its time to see the doc.

Such a cough can linger for as long as 10 weeks after a cold. Sorry you have a long way to go yet. Give it a couple of weeks more and then see your GP

UNLESS you are coughing up green phlegm then you have a secondary infection and may want to go earlier.
