I love sushi. All kinds. I could sit at a sushi bar and pig out, piece after piece. I'm safer to get a set and take it out, with a tetsubin of green tea I keep refilling with hot water.
Hai! Arigato!
I also get Nori and roll my own, but it's hard to get good fresh fish here in the Catskills. I make do with vegetables, miso, black sesame, and steamed fish. Lots of wasabi and thin sliced pickled ginger.
[For those who don't know, sushi is pickled rice, the fish is entirely optional as is the seaweed.
You can roll the pickled rice in a ball, then roll it around in toasted black sesame seed and finish it off with a piece of pimiento like an eye. Or layer it on rectangles of scrambled eggs, topping it with blades of garlic chives and/or caviar or salmon roe (if you're not averse to that kind of seafood). Or layer it on slices of daikon, zucchini, or eggplant, for extra fun grill the veggies lightly on a hibachi.
Even be non-traditional and do it with bean paper wraps and a filling of pulled pork or jerked goat meat.]

Have you ever tried fugu? The last I had was thinly shaved and arranged like a crane, delicate and white. An unique experience! Only get it from a licensed and well experienced chef. For that one I think you do have to be over 21!

What a coincidence, I'm craving for sushi right now and I'm going to get some tomorrow :))

I LOVE sushi especially the fusion ones.
The only raw fish I like is only salmon sashimi.

There are 2 places in Jakarta that serve great sushi, the first one is Sushi Nobu (pricey, but verrrrry good!!).
The second is Sushi Tei (affordable and delicious), I could go to there 2-3 times a week lol :D

Have a wonderful weekend, Moon :))

I like Nigiri Sushi the best. You can taste the fish better that way. The rolls just feel like a mouth-full of rice to me unless they have some bold flavors like spicy tuna.
My favorite types are:
Toro
Salmon
Spanish mackerel (far better than other types of mackerel)
Unagi
Ama Ebi
Oysters

I also love the little simple touches that some chefs add like minced scallions or jalapenos or a light poke sauce to the top. Those little things are sometimes what make the dish.

Love all sushi, but my very favorite is California rolls with the avocado. The hotter with hummus, the happier I am. There is a young man from a little island off the coast of Taiwan that makes sushi fresh to order and told me how hummus is grown in their swamp region and how extremely healthy it is to eat. My 11 year old granddaughter eats it as well, enjoying sushi since I can't remember how old she was, but very young!

I love sushi with the meat and seaweed inside. I think it's too messy to eat with the fish on the top. I also don't like the overpowering smell when the seaweed in wrapped on the outside. I also love the different sauces that come inside certain rolls like eel sauce and wasabi tobiko. I also love the crunch of cucumbers, carrots or even tempura shrimp inside the softness of the rice. A little bit of soy mixed with some wasabi and you have a little piece of heaven. Ohh...and don't forget to take a piece of ginger between bites to clean the pallete.

I love salmon, unagi, and tuna nigiri sushi, and with rolls, spicy tuna rolls, and rockford rolls are my favorites! I swear, I could eat sushi every day, though! There are so many varieties, and I just love that it's so fresh and delicious! Some women crave chocolate, I crave sushi! lol!

And I have a friend with a seven year daughter that LOVES sushi!

I've only had it once. Didn't love it or hate it. The person who took me to try out sushi wanted me to try different types, but I don't remember any of them.
