Oven dry bread for crumbs:

If your bread is not dry enough to crumble in the food processor, place bread piece/slices on an ungreased baking sheet.
Bread pieces will dry faster and evenly when they are laid out in a single layer, rather than when the pieces are stacked; allow a bit of room between pieces to dry properly.
Bake in a 300 degree F. oven for approximately 10 to 15 minutes; about halfway through, turn them over so they dry evenly.
Remove from oven and let cool.

hope this helps. good luck.

If you don't have the time to leave them out all night, then just lightly bake them. Put them in one layer on a cookie sheet, and bake for 15 minutes at 250F, then check them. Flip them if you want. If they're not quite what you need, leave them in another 15 minutes. At least that's how I make mine.

also if you aren't making the recipe tonight... leave slices on a tray, uncovered, overnight and they will be nice and dry for use the next day
