I need some help, please! I am in a new relationship for about 2 years now and my boyfriend is the one with diabetes. It's so hard for me and I dont know what else to do. I have a hard time understanding this illness and I tend to get overly frustrated with him. I need to know if there is anything I can do to help us. We have lived together for 2 years and were planning on getting married. So, I have to make a life long sacrifice for this. Are there any support groups or anything like this out there for my situation? And, how do you (I hate to say deal) but how do you deal with this?

If he is doing everything he can to treat his diabetes, then there shouldn't be any problem.

There are some things about diabetes that should be understood. His blood sugars can rise and fall, and that brings some major changes in mood. Also, it is a very expensive illness. The main thing my fiancé has trouble with is that it requires so much planning. If we want to go out to eat for dinner, we have to decide it that morning and I plan what I eat throughout the day so that a hamburger and french fries or a few slices of pizza do not commit murder on my glucose level. Also, if we want to go do something where I am going to be walking around alot or more physically active than usual, that is another planning situation. It is very stressful, but if he is the right guy for you, you can understand how to live through this.

I am writing to tell you what an incredible impact these methods had on my life! I have had type 2 diabetes for 27 years. For me, the worst part of this horrible disease is the severe pain I constantly get in my feet. The pain is so bad that I avoid standing and walking as much as possible. I've got to tell you that within the first month, my feet stopped hurting altogether and I can now walk totally pain free.

Believe it or not, I even danced at my niece's wedding last month, something I have not done in a many years. I've been following the book for six months now and my blood sugar is well within normal range. I feel great!

I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

I'm a type 1 and I had to teach my boyfriend all about it. He knew a few things but because I use a pump, I had to let him know about a few things (how the pump works, all about Glucagon, how my glucose meter works, etc).

I suggest you contact a local hospital about diabetes education classes. You do not have to be a diabetic to go to them. Classes are offered for friends and family of diabetics so they can learn about it.

If you and this guy are going to get married, the classes are an excellent idea. I also suggest premarital counseling. It sounds to me that you are not sure about this relationship...and you have been with him for 2 years...and are basing your decision on his diabetes.

Two years? That's not new...that's long term.
