It's possible your baby could contract the virus as it is coming through the birth canal during delivery (it's very rare though).
It's still very important that you talk to your doctor about this though. Your doctor will most likely suggest having a C-section delivery to prevent the baby from contracting the virus.

Good luck!

Women with HPV and genital warts have healthy, happy babies every minute of the day! Your doctor will know if it is safe for you to deliver your baby vaginally or if you should have a c-section. Most of the time babies are just fine even if the mother has genital warts. Chances go up for babies to be infected if the mother has a vaginal delivery and her vagina is full of very large warts, by large I mean blocking the canal. Speak with your doctor about the safest way for you to deliver. BTW, CONGRATS on the baby!

Yes your child might become infected with a normal delivery. A C-Section will avoid the infection. Discuss this with your OB-GYN as the treatments for genital warts are not indicated for use during pregnancy. After the delivery, you might ask about Aldara cream.

Child is not in any danger if you do a C-section. Discuss what the doctor thinks you should do exactly to protect the baby, though.

agree with the other answers, they are right. Also, it may not be him who gave it to you as the virus can lie dormant.I had it years ago and no repeat but I know that it could come back and if it did for me when I was pregnant I would have to discuss with my gyneacologist (sp).
