? Um, I think we always were animals. From a biblical view point though we have dominion over all living creatures.So based on that after we got kicked out of Eden then we ate whatever we could kill. However if you're asking when did decided to eat *gasp meat, we were hunters before we started farming. You may find Eat Right For Your Type, an interesting read. Not all of us are still "designed" to digest meat.

We've always been animals, slaves to our instincts. When we're hungry, we find some way to suppress our hunger. When we feel threatened, we protect ourselves. And when we become lost in something, we cannot pull ourselves out.
We didn't turn into animals at some point in time; we were always animals.
