I have been 100% faithful to my husband. We just did something stupid like having sex during my period. He developed pain, burning, drainage, and skin irritation. He had to have a swab for stds and a shot and numerous prescriptions. What could this be? I have none of this. Serious, mature medical answers only.

having sex during you periods does nothing. in fact its the only time you cannot get pregnant. most people don't because its kinda gross, so your husband had some weird normal sex irritation or he's cheated on you witch a doubt

The drainage part sounds a bit disturbing. Ask him if he'de ever had a STD in the past. If so, men can get something called epidymitis, and it can be very painful with men. He might be having an allergic reaction to the feminine products you used for your period ( tampax, deodorant ones?) either way, if you had never had sex on your period before and all of a sudden he's having an issue, there has got to be a reason. don't totally eliminate the fact he may have had sex elsewhere as well, even though thats the one thing we women want to not believe, it happens.

There is actually nothing wrong with having sex while the woman is on her period.

Most people prefer not to have sex while the woman is bleeding because it's pretty gross and can be pretty messy, but there no physical reason why a couple can't have sex while the woman is on her period.

As far as your husband being tested for STDs and getting on a prescription - that has nothing to do with having sex while you are on your period. STDs can be spread regardless if a couple has sex while the woman is on her period or not.

Since most STDs have no signs or symptoms, many people are unaware they even have one. If you have a STD (whether you are aware of it or not) and have sex with your husband (period or not) you CAN spread it to him.

It's also possible that he has had a STD all along from a previous relationship and the symptoms are just starting to show now! It can take several months and even years for symptoms of some STDs to show up.

Both of you should be tested for ALL STDs and get treatment for any STD either of you may have. Good luck to you!

i have never heard of there being any issues while having sex while on your period. you may have been faithful, but it sounds like he caught something, maybe not from you. if you have no disease or infections then he should have had no problems. the real shame of it is if he received treatment then you need to see you gyn because there is an issue which might require you to be treated as well. did you go to his dr appt with him? i work for a doctor and unfortunately we have had a doctor know the patient has an std and play it down as something else in front of the wife. another person caught an std and told his wife it was a yeast infection. do yourself a favor and see you gyn.

being on your period wouldn't give your husband anything if you are free of stds. if they put him on antibiotics he may indeed have a std. now burning can be other things, but most men don't get uti's. if would be helpful to know the name of the antibiotic. i think you might want to get checked out at the doctor once your period is done to make certain you don' t have anything. having sex on your period isn't stupid-just messy. if you had like hepatitis or hiv- and say he had a tear on his penis , then having sex on your period could give him hepatitis or hiv, but if you have been faithful and free of std's i would be asking him what the doc said and what the swab results are. good luck.

It could be an penis infection. A large amount of your blood might have entered his penis and maybe it caused a infectous reaction
