By "intimidating" do you mean "envious"?
I know when it's pouring rain and I have to get out of my tent to take a leak and the guy in the RV next to me can hit the head without even getting a drop on him, I tend to be envious.
However, since I know the RV cannot hurt me, because it is an inanimate object, I never feel intimidated. That would be like looking at a loaded gun, just sitting on a table with nothing around it. It can't hurt you. It's just a loaded gun. It can't act on it's own.
Additionally, my tent never feels like it's intimidated by the RV. They can't talk to each other.
BTW..."Like I am in a tent", or am I in a tent?

No, it doesn't bother us at all. We used to have a camper but it finally died and we couldn't afford another. So, now we have a tent. We used to camp with my daughter, her family and her in-laws in the space right next to them. It was great, especially when it turned bitter cold and snowed! We squeezed into the motor home with the rest (we had a propane heater!) and we all stayed toasty warm. Another time the rain was falling really hard and the wind was blowing so bad that we couldn't put up the tent -- another night in the motor home. Most people who drive them know what they are doing and it's not likely that you and your wife will be run over. Most sites where motor homes and large trailer are permitted are well marked.

Nothing worse than a motor home at the campsite next to you with christmas lights strung up and an air conditioner running day & night. CAMPING IS IN A TENT--- NO ELECTRICITY!

Intimidated? Not in the least for several reasons.
I normally do not go camping on the busy traditional summer holiday weekends so that I can avoid the crowded campgrounds. Also, being a manager in a large retail store makes it difficult to get off on holiday weekends. (Busy with customers since my department includes our large camping section)
Finally, I do not get a tent site that has water or electric. The chances of someone in a camper or motorhome setting up in a site next to mine is pretty slim unless the campground is extremely packed.
I also tend to look for the more private, secluded sites in a campground so that I can, hopefully, enjoy peace and quiet.

I'd be amazed. The only way to get something like that into where I camp is with a helicopter. I camp in the Canadian bush. It's about 25 miles from a road. I've never seen another human, much less a vehicle.

trailers are not camping, they are just another little house. The only reason you should use one to camp is if youre handicapped or very very old
