Before jumping to conclusions, like her husband not being faithful, she needs to see a doctor and get tested to know what she has.
Trichomoniasis symptoms are similar to BV (bacterial vaginosis) symptoms. Both infections can have a discharge and both infections can have a very strong, foul odor. They are also both treated and cured with an antibiotic. Metronidazole (brand name is Flagyl) is usually prescribed for both infections.
Trichomoniasis, however, IS a STD, while BV is NOT a STD. BV is a result of an imbalance of the "good" bacteria and the "bad" bacteria which are both naturally found in the vagina.
Your friend really needs to see a doctor and get properly diagnosed. A doctor will be able to tell her what she has and offer/provide treatment. Take care!

It could be a few things. There are odd female issues which have the same symptoms as an STD .. there are also a FEW which can be contracted by public restrooms. So it is hard to say without knowing what your friend possibly has.
But yes, I would reccomend she goes to a dr. and get tested and IF she has one, and she HAS been faithful, then yeah .. her and hubby need to have a SERIOUS chat..

Tell your friend to see an ob/gyn and get a pap smear and complete examination. She may or may not have an STD, but she won't know unless she goes to the doctor. Usually the doctor can tell her the results at the time of her visit. If she is faithful and does have an STD, then yes, no matter what her husband says, she got it from him. Tell her not to jump the gun until she has been seen by the doctor.

She could just as well got it from her husband if she was 100% faithful but the best thing to do is get tested for a std or aka 02 at the local health department..and if postive tell her husband or they can contact him but get tested because it will not get better only worse or her could keep passing it to one another.

There are STD's that can lay DORMANT for many many years.
He did not have to cheat to give her an STD, as he could of had it since he was 18 years old, and just NOW it is deciding to become active.
This does happen with HPV and HSV, but not Chlamydia orGonnorhea...

Have her go to this web site. If she has this, it is sexually transmitted by female to male intercourse or female to female, but not by male to male.
If she does have this STD she really needs to get checked by a doctor because it makes her more susceptible to HIV.
I am really sorry, but if she has been faithful then her husband has been cheating on her & has now given her a disease.

The protozoan parasite Trichomonas vaginalis is only spread through sexual contact. Men can carry the parasite but it is usually asymptomatic. If she doesn't screw anyone else, then it's obvious that he does.

Maybe instead of talking about her sex life to her friends, she should be talking about it to her husband.
Shows an obvious communication problem in the marriage. No wonder he cheated. Too bad he got an STD and passed it to her.
