Yes, she did have a pacemaker:
Canadian singer & songwriter, Jann Arden was born on March 27, 1962. She had a pacemaker for 17 years, but it was recently removed because she no longer was using it all that much, if ever. Besides, it kept setting off alarms everywhere she went. "One tends to really think about living and dying when you get a pacemaker implanted at 20 years old." Her pacemaker experience inspired her popular "Will You Remember Me" song.

Yes she's lost a lot of weight and she looks good. I have never heard that she was gay...whether she is or not won't affect my opinion that she makes pretty good music.
