for a first time smoker yes.

the body is not used to the smoke. that is the reason for the pain in the chest.

the light headedness is from the smoke you inhaled. it was not clean air and your brian is not used to that .

You'll feel better tomorrow.

its a nasty habit to start kid. so knock it off. besides... its expensive. you heard of people smoking a pack or two a day? imagine paying up to 6 bucks per pack? plus it makes your breath and body smell like $h!t?

Your body is reacting to the 4000 poisonous chemicals in cigarettes. The light headed feeling is actually enjoyed by most smokers, however, it signals brain cell death from oxygen deprivation. (a note to the naive - brain cells do not grow back).
The pain in your chest is the damage that has been caused inside of your lungs to the bronchii and aveloli structures due to smoking just 1 1/2 cigarettes.

Now, imagine what kind of damage has been done to a smoker's lungs and brain cells after smoking a pack a day for just 10 years. 20 cigarettes in a pack, 365 days a year, for 10 years. Thats 73,000 cigarettes.

Yes. Smoking can make you light headed even if it's not your first time, I've smoked for four years and sometimes I get light headed and feel little pains in my chest but don't worry it's no big deal, you'll be fine. I think there are many worse addictions out there than smoking. And I hate people who complain about others who smoke, it's like it's my body it's my life so shut up.

Yes that's normal. When I started smoking I smoked menthol cigarettes and they made me EXTREMELY dizzy and light headed. The pain in your chest will go away soon too. It also depends on how you smoked. If you inhale deeply then you are likely to have more of a reaction to the cigarette smoke because you inhaled longer, harder and deeper as opposed to just taking quick, easy puffs from the cigarette.

for a first time smoker this type of feelings can ocurr because of nicotine & various other funny things in the stick of smoke.
nicotine can cause vasodilatation which can cause a feeling of lightheadedness in beginers.
regarding pain chest, it is quiet tricky , it can be because of few reasons.
1. ur lungs are sensitive to smoke, so u r having spasm of ur airways, similar t what happens in asthmantics during their attacks.
2. some smoke may have got stuck in ur airways leading to such kind of feeling.
3. smoking can cause constriction of arteries of heart, which can theoritically cause myocardial ishchemia, manifesting as angina.
4 u may have an episode of coughing when u had inhaled leading to sprain of ur muscles in the rib cage.
so my advice to u would be to consult a doctor in case the pain persists or increases. in case it is reducing there may be not much to worry about,

my final advice to u is to avoid smoking, it is damn adcitive & u never know when u become addicted & to tell u frankly it is very difficult to get rid of this addiction. i have seen many a people try & fail miserably, they only stop when they develop COPD.

it is possible. all that crap in cigs (but oh so fun). you should be fine, unless you have asthma or some other respiratory problem. probably should have done it slower and eased into smoke inhalation rather then suffocate yourself. Go to a doc if the pain doesn't go away, but if it hasn't killed you by now it probably won't at all.

also some cigs are harsher than others. and worse if it was a clove.

No. I smoked for years and never felt that. Give up now before they get you hooked. Spend you money on something worthwhile and don't smell like an ashtray.

Yes. Your body is trying to tell you your mind was being stupid.

Listen to your body.
