No. Most vegetarian dishes use nuts. As long as you eat nuts, by itself or with vegetables, you will still have the allergic reaction. Find out if you're allergic to beans too. If not, you can use them as substitute. And increase your intake of soy. Also, avoid eating chocolates with almonds or any kind of nut. Its the number one allergen.

My husband is allergic to all tree nuts. This makes it difficult since I am working on weaning my self onto vegetarianism. Many people eat nuts in some form or another to substitute protein but I can't without taking a shower and brushing my teeth really well. You would be surprised what all has nuts or is manufactured in a facility with nuts. We are just very careful and I make most of our food from scratch and from local sources.

No, there is no connection between the two. But a vegetarian diet would be beneficial for most people's health anyway.

I'm not sure if I understand what you mean. How would an allergy to nuts be beneficial for anything?
You wouldn't have to eat nuts to be a vegetarian, if that's what you mean.

I am allergic to almonds. I eat everything, but almonds. Meat has nothing to do with nuts.
Fish would be better because of the omega-3 that is found in fish as well as some varieties of nuts.

um, no. nuts are a good source of protein i believe, which you normally get a lot from meat.. its not that important, because you can get it in other of those substitute foods. but it does not make it beneficial to be allergic

Nuts are often used as protein sources by vegetarians. Probably just fine as long as you made your own food from scratch.

no. Nuts are not found in meat. Many veggie dishes are made with types of nuts though.. like stirfrys and such. Meat is a good replacement for the protein if you are not eating nuts
