Of course the hallmark signs of a heart attack are: intense pressure on the chest, shooting pain up the left arm and to the back, sweaty and clammy, short of breath. However, for a female the signs can be very vague even to the point of just a feeling of "something being wrong." Look up the American Heart Assoc. web site.

all the symptoms other people described are true for men, not women, we do NOT have the same symptoms- women experience pain in the back- btwn the shoulders and hard time swallowing- I know as I had these symptoms and didn't know it was a heart attack at the time, found out later. So be careful as yours might not be the same as a mans.

Four important things you must notice as per the Medical Bulletins
1. Person will be having severe back pain some where in his left side and started sweating .
2.If you ask him to talk one full sentence without any mistake, he will not.
3.If you ask him to raise his hand , he will not.
4.If you ask him to see your eyes (-Eye to eye contact-), he will not.
This is enough evidence for his heart attack. But once he go to the hospital he will be taken ECG to verify the tests. Yours

Just a suggestion, but if you think you or someone you know might be having a heart attack it might be a good idea to go to the hospital instead of posting questions on here...just a suggestion though ;o)

if your left arm is tingling, you are having chest pain...
if you're having chest pain and no arm tingling though, you should definitely go to the emergency room.
