When you call your GP for a STD screen, you make your appointment and say, 'I'd like to schedule a full-panel STD screen, please."

Just ask for it like you'd ask for any other check up. And yes, unless you are getting an *anonymous* HIV test, you will need to state your name. But everything is always kept confidential.

Some people are embarrassed to schedule a STD screen, but they shouldn't be. It's very routine, very common, and by golly, more people need to make it part of their regular wellness routine.

Note to HOT DOGS: You can only be tested anonymously for HIV. All other tests are CONFIDENTIAL and require name and contact info. There is a very BIG difference between confidential and anonymous testing. Confidential means all patient info is kept private between the physician and patient (with minor exceptions for public health purposes). Anonymous means no patient info is collected, and numbers are used as the primary identifier (e.g., #589027 is negative). Also, your answers would be much nicer and neater to read if you didn't use the ///.
