The average person passes gas 14 times a day, veg or meat eater. And they should. Different people experience different amounts of flatulence from the specific foods they eat. For instance, if I eat cauliflower or drink beer, I am very gassy. I've never noticed a difference with the meats I eat, though.

NO. Meat does NOT cause flatulence. Flatulence is caused by the breakdown of carbohydrates in the small intestine. These include dairy, grains, sugars, legumes, and nearly all vegetables and fruits. The only carbohydrate that does not produce gas is rice.
Meat does not contain carbohydrates therefore it does not contribute to gas.
Edit to add: for the record, burping is caused by swallowed air, not by the digestion of food. Certain foods that contain a lot of air, like popcorn, or certain baked goods, may actually cause you to burp more than others. But again, meat is not really a culprit here, either.
However, meat is more likely than veggies/grains to cause heartburn or indigestion, which is different from gas or flatulence.

I know that meat can cause burping and if the meat is fried like Mickey D's burgers, then I would be willing to bet that it would be a contributing factor to flatulence. While I'm not sure if fried meat or certain foods in general causes as much gas as onions, garlic, cauliflower, cabbage, various types of beans and certain dairy products, I do know that spicy/hot or fried meats can cause flatulence, burping and heatburn in certain people.

RE:
Does meat cause flatulence?
I thought it was just beef, but it seems to be all meat.

YES... it's caused by the breakdown of meat within the gut. Beef is worse than pork because Pork is the closest to the human body in terms of amino-acids while chicken and fish are more neutral

i here you. major meat gas when i used to eat meat and when i would "relapse" in my early veggie days.
the worst one by far though was beef, especially seasoned beef like carne asada and skewered beef with vegetables.
i still have alot of gas now that im veggie but i dont think it as offensive as the infamous carne asada farts!
